You just went into your pump station or your water treatment chemical area to check your system and what did you find but your polyethylene tubing that that you knew was getting a little old had developed a crack overnight (Murphy's Law at work!). During the overnight period the crack had sprayed chemical (KOH? NaOCl?, etc) against the wall and started to remove the paint or worse started spraying it toward people! Does this sound familiar? NPI now carries a line of stainless steel braid reinforced Teflon tubing assemblies with either 316 SS end fittings or PVDF end fitting (chemical only contacts PVDF and the Teflon hose ID). These tubing assemblies have very high burst pressures are flexible and are intended to make flexible connection between chemical feed pumps (with N.P.T. connections!) and rigid PVC discharge pipe for inexpensive long runs. Either Stainless or thermoplastic swivel fittings (or unions) area available to simplify installation and future pump swapping.
We feel this is the best balance between cost and overall piping performance. These "bullet-proof" tubing and connection systems are often only a few feet long to introduce the necessary flexibility of mounting without adding significant cost of the system.
