12/14/98 - NPI is now in full production with the new ALM-1 PUMP MONITOR designed to bring simple, reliable verification of flow from the LMI Digi-Pulse family of flow monitors! ![]() The ALM-1 brings easy installation for new and existing installations, along with key features and specifications to solve the problem of knowing if your pump is delivering fluid when it is operating. The unit is equipped with an LED that provides a unique tuning aid for adjusting the LMI Digi-Pulse flow monitor to accommodate the viscosity and density of the system fluid. These pulses into the ALM-1 are visibly indicated by the green pulse input LED on the front panel. The ALM-1 has an adjustable pump monitoring period that is field-adjustable using a small screwdriver inside the ALM-1, after removing the enclosure cover. Each pulse into the unit resets the monitoring timer. If the stream of reset pulses should stop for any reason (pump failure, check valve clogging, empty supply tank, etc) the monitoring period timer will run out to the end of its period. When this happens, the on-board relay is triggered and the relay contacts are switched. This can switch the input to an auto dialer or SCADA system, switch and alarm, switch on a back-up pump, etc. The LMI Digi-Pulse flow monitor is available in several versions with capacity up to 25 GPH. Higher flows and larger pumps can be accommodated by ALM & Digi-Pulse combination by mounting the flow monitor on a by-pass. Consult NPI for case study information on successful installations of this versatile new combination of products! Download the new ALM-1 Data Sheet! Back to NPInformation Articles Page
